Solomon Marcus, a mathematician for a lifetime

Abstract


Our aim is twofold. First, we emphasize Solomon Marcus’
close relation with the ”Simion Stoilow” Institute of Mathematics of the
Romanian Academy. Second, we present his interest in explaining the
role of the mistakes in the evolution of the mathematical ideas.
